It engenders not only competence, creativity, and happiness within people, but an effectiveness among their interactions that augments an entire organization's or nation's agility and prowess.

This latter factor - interaction - is a key to empowerment. Focusing on objects rather than interactions is the reason that most people and institutions that strive for empowerment never really achieve it.
